1 cup Semolina (suji)
1 cup Ghee (clarified butter)
1/4 cup Grated coconut
1/2 cup sugar
4 cup water or milk
pinch of Cardamom powder
chopped almonds, raisins, cashews
Add Ghee to the pan or the container.
Heat Ghee and add Semolina (suji) to the Ghee.
Stir continuously till it turns golden in color.
Add almonds, cashews and raisins and stir again for 5 - 10 mins so that the cashews, raisins and almonds turn brown in color.
You can either add water or milk to Semolina (suji). Stir till the water or milk is absorbed and the ghee seperates the pan.
OPTIONAL: You can also add Saffron (Kesar) in water or milk to give a nice color to the Halwa or you can also keep it for garnishing.
Add grated coconut and sugar while stiring. Cook it on medium flame so that all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed and you get the required consistency.
Garnish with almonds or cashews.
